Spotify UI: Recreation and Augmentation

Spotify is one of the largest music streaming services worldwide, providing hundreds of millions of users with a platform to listen to their favorite artists and songs. While some features exist to aid users in discovering new music attuned to their tastes, it can be difficult to find new tunes outside of what Spotify’s algorithm determines users will like.

This personal project was created as a part of NextFrame Academy’s UX/UI design program, in which I set out to recreate the Spotify mobile UI, and to design a feature allowing users to view playlists, curated by both Spotify and other users, featuring specific songs. My goal was to create a feature that would better allow users to discover new music, as well as drive community engagement.

Software used: Figma

Duration: 1 week

Flow:

  1. Users click on the details button of a song that they like

  2. “Go to playlists featuring song” button now appears on the details menu

  3. Users are taken to the “Playlists featuring…” page for their selected song
